OUR STORY

A legacy in chocolate craftsmanship

Our story begins four generations ago, deeply rooted in the Gonçalves family. Cultivating cocoa has been part of our DNA since 1890, and during this time, we have learned what makes good cocoa and the secrets to producing natural, tasty, and healthy chocolate.

 

After decades of perfecting cocoa tree cultivation and producing outstanding cocoa almonds, we decided it was time to create our own chocolate blend. With that in mind, we launched Espírito Cacau, a chocolate brand that is 100% natural and produced with cocoa harvested from our family-owned cocoa farms.

 

The result is chocolate of extraordinary quality and purity. Espírito Cacau is one of the few in the world to present single-origin cocoa almonds (DOC) and geographical indication (GI). This means that every bite carries the aroma and flavor of our terroir in the beautiful and lush Mata Atlântica region of Brazil.

 

Cocoa has always been our passion, and it will continue with future family generations. After all, as they say, when you love what you do, it never feels like work.
